Submit a Ticket
When submitting a ticket, you will first need to select a category and subcategory.Once this selection is made, you will be presented the inquiry form.Complete the form as best as possible.Each area allows for different input types and some may allow file uploads.Once the form is complete, you may submit your ticket.Review the information supplied below that gives greater detail about each step.
General Form Information - Select a Category / Subcategory
  Select the specific category / subcategory for your inquiry. Choosing the most appropriate sub-category will enable DFAS to route your inquiry more effectively.
  This is generally a 2 step process. First select the appropriate category by "clicking" on the >> button in front of the category name displayed in the left column. (There may only be one category. If this is the case, it will already be selected for you.) Once you select a category, the list of subcategories will be populated in the right column. Choose the most appropriate subcategory by "clicking" on the >> button for the subcategory name. Once you click on the subcategory button, you will be automatically routed to the inquiry form.
Category Choose the category that is most appropriate for your inquiry. You choose a category by clicking on the >> button in front of the name of the category that you would like. Once you click on the category button, the category name will be highlighted and the list of available subcategories will be displayed.
Sub-Category Choose the sub-category that is most appropriate for your inquiry. You choose a sub-category by clicking on the >> button in front of the name of the sub-category that you would like. Once you click on the subcategory button you will automatically be routed to the rest of the inquiry process.

  Browse the faqs (if available) to see if you can find your answer. By using the faqs, you may be able to immediately answer your question or inquiry, thus reducing your wait time for the answer to your inquiry.
Frequently Asked Question You may see a list of FAQs on this page. If they are visible, the administrators choose to show these to you because they may help you answer your question without the need to submit an inquiry. Click on an FAQ title to view the entire version of the FAQ.
Change Category / Subcategory Link to allow you to change your selected category/subcategory foir your inquiry submission.Choosing an appropriate area helps route the inquiry to the correct DFAS personnel and may reduce your wait time for a response.
Category This is the category that you selected on the previous page.
Sub-Category This is the sub-category that you selected on the previous page.
Name Enter at least your first name and last name, as these are required. Middle name is optional.
Email Enter the email address to which you would like a response sent. If this email address is incorrect, you will not receive a response.If this email address is incorrect, you will not receive a response.
Re-enter Email This step is here to confirm that you entered you email address correctly. The two addresses will be checked to make sure they are the same before the submission is accepted.If this email address is incorrect, you will not receive a response.
Additional Email May or may not be available:
If you would like a copy of your inquiry sent to additional email addresses, you may enter them here. If you are entering multiple addresses, separate each address with the semi-colon(;). A summary inquiry will be sent to these email addresses. Also when a reply is sent, these email addresses will be included in the reply.
Passcode A passcode is needed in order to gain future access to your ticket.Without this, you will not be able to view any past or present tickets.����
(There may more items on this form.) Each DFAS area has the ability to add additional inquiry fields for their customers. You may see additional fields here. It can be a combination of text fields or dropdowns - read the label for each item and enter the data requested.
Question, Comment, Problem Depending on the selected subcategory, you may be entering a question, comment or system problem. Please provide enough detailed information so that a DFAS representative can respond to your inquiry. Without enough information, your inquiry may be delayed or the representative may need to contact you for more information.This area to enter text can be called a variety of terms...If available enter detailed information.
Attach File(s) Some DFAS areas will allow their customers the ability to attach files to their inquires. If you are in such an area, the Attach File(s) button will be visible. If not, you will not see this button. If you can see the button and would like to attach files to your inquiry, click on the Attach File(s) button. This will open a new form to select files you wish to upload.
Attachments If you have already choosen files, they will show up here, with the file name and status as to whether or not it will be allowed to be included with your inquiry.You have the ability to remove one file at a time using the trashcan button or you can remove all of the files at one time using the Remove all attached files button.
Submit Click on this button to submit your request to a DFAS representative.
Cancel Cancels your inquiry and returns you back to the home page.
 
General Form Information - Upload Files
  Only certain file types are allowed to be attached to your inquiry.
They are:
Word Documents
Power Point Documents
Excel Spreadsheets
PDF files
Text Files
Email Messages (msg)
Images (jpg, gif, bmp)
Files of any other type will be rejected and will not be included with your submission.
Total files size per ticket is 35 megabytes (35,848,000 bytes). Each area can decide how many files to allow, you may see zero or up to 10 available slots for file attachments.
Files 1-10 Use the browse button to find the desired file to attach to your submission.
Upload Files Click the Upload button to upload the desired files.Depending on internet connection speeds, numbers of files attached and the sizes of each file, this process may take a few minutes to complete�Please be patient while it is uploading.
 
General Form Information - Submission Process
  Once you have completed the inquiry page, click submit to process your inquiry to our database and representatives.��
  If you have entered incomplete data - the submission will stop and you will be presented with the information needed to complete the form.
  A completed form may run through 2 checks in our database before submission occurs.��
  The first check may be to see see if you have already submitted a ticket today.If the area performs this check and you already submitted a ticket today, then you will be presented with a message that you have already submitted a ticket today and you will need to confirm that you would like to submit another ticket.
  The second check may be to see if your inquiry matches any FAQ keywords that have been established by DFAS resprentatives.If this check is turned on and an FAQ match is found - you will be presented with a list of FAQs to possibily help you find your answer before continuing with the submission process.If you wish continue and submit your inquiry - then submit.
  The final screen will be a confirmation of your submission and a ticket number.You will also receive an email indicating that the ticket has been received.
