How do I submit my application and required documentation?

Answer

1. Close this FAQ window by clicking the X in the upper right corner.
2. Click Submit a Ticket.
3. Select the appropriate Dependency in the Subcategories box.
4. Complete the form and attach your substantiating documents (including the appropriate DD Form 137-X for this Dependency type.) We suggest using .pdf format if possible.
5. Click Upload - if your attachments exceed 35 MB, you may need to attach some documentation to your ticket after submitting it. If the attachments are too large to submit, you will receive a warning message.
6. Click Submit.
7. You should receive a determination in 30-45 business days. If documentation is missing or the claims examiner has questions, they will contact you via your AskDFAS ticket.
