Career Sea Pay (CSP)

Question

What is Career Sea Pay (CSP) and who is eligible to receive it?

Answer

If you are an Active Duty Enlisted Service Member or Commissioned Officer on sea duty, you are entitled to Career Sea Pay (CSP) at rate up to $730 a month.

Career Sea Pay Premium (CSP-P) is a special pay that is in addition to CSP and is paid for unusually long periods of continuous sea duty. Once a Service Member has served 36 months of consecutive sea duty, he/she is entitled to a CSP-P for the 37th month and each consecutive month thereafter. This amount is determined by the Secretary concerned, but will not exceed $350 per month.

CSP rates are based on rank and the number of years served at sea. CSP rates also vary across military services.
