Question

I have received a billing statement that does not reflect my most recent payment. What is the status of my account?

Answer

Payments may take up to 15 business days to be applied to your account.  It is possible to receive a notice of defaulted payment even after you have mailed in a payment due to timing variance between posting payments to your account and when the next statement has been generated. 

However, you can easily check the current status online by accessing the DFAS Out of Service Debt Status Tool.

If the processing time period has lapsed, and your account does not reflect the most recent payment, you may submit an inquiry through the AskDFAS Account Balance Request Form below.
