Aviation Career Incentive Pay (ACIP)

Question

What is Aviation Career Incentive Pay (ACIP) and who is eligible to receive it?

Answer

Aviation Career Incentive Pay (ACIP) is for regular and reserve officers on Aviation Duty. These officers must also hold, or be in training to hold, an aeronautical designation or rating and must engage and remain in aviation service on a career basis. Entitlement to ACIP may be on a continuous or conditional (month-to-month) basis. In time of war, the President may suspend the payment of ACIP.

Items to Note

  • Officers above pay grade O-6 with over 25 years of aviation service are not entitled to continuous or conditional ACIP.
  • An officer in pay grade O-7 may not be paid at a rate greater than $200 a month.
  • An officer in pay grade O-8 or above may not be paid at a rate greater than $206 a month.
  • Warrant officers with over 22 years of aviation service are paid at the rate for officers with over 14 years of aviation service.
